Excellent STILL the best italian in the city since 1968. But if you want smokin hot, like Grandma caps, go to 3009 or gayes on main street. 1000 oaks hasnt figured the importance of smokin hot food. But food is just as good.Dont forget best chief salad in city, just not what you would call dietetic.

We enjoyed a nice birthday party but we were not happy with the garlic bread or the pizza like Grandma Capparelli used to make it. Somehow the taste is not as awesome as it was and we started eating Grandma's food on Nacodoches in 1978...we continue to like the food but feel you are not following Grandma's recipe?? Are you using real butter and lots of it on the garlic bread. The bread is fantastic but somehow it's not as good..maybe more butter and spices?? Also we would eat one bite of Pizza and couldn't wait to take the next bite..it was so wonderful...please make sure you are using Grandma's recipes to the letter...she worked very hard to make Capparelli's a success...don't ruin it for her...we loved her and she would kiss my husband on the cheek every time we went there!! We can get ordinary pizza anywhere but we want Grandma's Pizza and Garlic Bread!!!!!

I go out of my way to have Capparellis meatball with cheese subs or eggplant parm. Theres no beating the house italian dressing. Im having an early Fathers Day dinner there tonight.
