We tried this place out last night. We ordered dumplings, an egg roll, hot and sour soup, beef with snow peas and curry chicken, with drinks. It was $25. Disregard the online menu. This place is setup for take-out. We got cups for drinks. Choices are soda, or sweet tea. They do not have regular tea.
The kitchen was staffed with 6 very busy guys. It appeared clean. The restaurant has numerous stuffed animals and trophy heads. It was clean overall.
I asked if I could get steamed dumplings, the answer was no.
Utensils are plastic and food is served in styrofoam containers, period.
Service at the counter is brusque and matter-of-fact. Our food was prepared in 7-10 minutes, and our number was called. I grabbed a plastic bottle of soy sauce, off another table. I didn't need it.
The dumplings were very good, plain. My husband left his egg roll, to share my dumplings. Portions were huge. If we had known, we would have shared the hot and sour soup and an entree.
The hot and sour soup was thick, spicy and slightly sour. It had a red tint and I could have made a meal from 1/2 cup of soup and 1/2 dumplings. We ate a little soup, ate a dumpling and traded our entrees. My husband loved the dumplings and the soup. I grabbed a couple of his snow peas and one piece of beef. The peas were excellent. My curry chicken was better.
The chicken was lightly breaded, tender, mixed with onions and green/yellow curry sauce.
We took most of our dinner home. It was really good and I wonder why I haven't found this place, before. Beats Hong Kong buffet, by a mile!
We'll definitely go back.
