Since a couple of my friends raved about Thousand Oaks Café on Jones-Maltsberger, I was anxious to try it. Arrived for lunch at 11:45 last week.. Chips and salsa were very good. Our order was taken fairly quickly.. I ordered a combo plate and requested beef enchiladas instead of cheese. I was assured by the waitress that it wasn't a problem. Our waitress brought our order to the table and left the bill. That was the last we saw of her. My enchiladas were cheese instead of beef, and the rice was hard as if it had not been cooked enough. In the 1 1/2 hours that we were there, no one checked on us, refilled our drinks, and we had to get up and find someone for a take-out box. I will not be returning.
My family has been looking for a new place to get some good food and service. We decided to visit the Jones Maltsberger location. We had heard it was better than the one on Thousand Oaks. Let me tell you that we found one! The service was great, the food was very very good, and the cost and the wait time was low. We will absolutely be back soon :-)Respond
Our family gathers there for breakfast one or two weekends each month. We love their food: Carne guisada, migas, eggs rancheras, even the pancakes! When they first opened, the food was not as good as the Thousand Oaks location but they have definitely brought it up to standards.Respond

the food was awful, ordered cheese enchiladas, got some cheese rolled in corntorilla, with hotdog chili stuff, I know , ate plenty , but I think u could do much better anywhere else,tried calling with opion, but they where not interested !Respond
Food is ok....but nothing special. It is standard fare that is available almost anywhere in SA. The outstanding thing during my visit was the lousy service. It is sad to note they longer serve complimentary chips and salsa. You also now have to ask for the red salsa which is sooooo much better than the bitter green stuff. It was a favorite place for a long time but it is now going down so better look for another place for Mexican Food.Respond
