Matt's is an excellent restaurant. Everything I've tried, I've loved. And they've always been very nice. I would suggest this place to anyone.

Im not a critic but I am becoming a bit of a pro when it comes to food. I have a goal to own a small restaurant in the near future. I have been cooking for about 6 years with spices, fresh veggies, oils and sauces. I can put together a mean Manicotti or even Mostcacholi.
My wife, father in-law, mother in-law and my 15month old son and i are on our way to Disney World in Florida. We have DeLorme GPS, and wanted to stop and grab something to eat, before we got to the time share my in-laws own. After looking through over 485 restaurants on DeLormes search results we decided Matts Italian Cuisine sounded pretty interesting. SO! We left our course from Southern IL to travel over an hour out of our way to try this place.
I will tell all of you who read this honestly Matt or Mattie as I think it may be, does not deserve to be in the building he is right now. Instead he deserves to be on the cost of Jacksonville with a 12 story revolving sphere that holds his amazing food. I have never tasted food that was so pure and so fresh. His ingredients are crisp and his sauces, even his dressings for salads are hand made. The garlic bread is not on the best French bread but, his baslamiic like sauce he puts on the bread turns it into the best garlic bread I have ever put in my mouth.
I ordered the Chicken Marsla, and lets face it a marsala is not something easy to create. For all you cooks reading this you know how it is when you put to much oil, or to much garlic, or even the wrong type and cut of the nuts. And lets not mention the difficulty cooking the chicken in the sauce with the breading on it. Anyhow, after biting into this amazing dish I felt the weightlift from my shoulders and the only other time I have felt something equal to this feeling of zin, was eating a tai soup made with lotus blossom heart. A deep feeling of relaxation overtook me after my meal. The food was perfect.
So, my book says five of five here. For all of you who try his food because of reading this just remember that he truly deserves to be cooking a level that some of us can only hope to achieve in our lives. A simple feeling or even comment to explain my meal....would be bliss. OHHHHHH and guys...my meal was only $12.95. If i made a meal like that.....im thinking $22.50

The food was delicious and reasonably priced, and our server Ben was outstanding. Highly recommend this little Italian restaurant for both dining in and pizza takeout.
