I was happily surprised to discover that Caddaghs is a low-key, friendly place. Ive lived within shouting distance of it for the past two years, but as a single person 60+, I was too intimidated to go inside, in spite of my love of Guinness! Glad I took the plunge the other night to finally take a shy peek inside the front door. I immediately spotted another 60-ish couple, sitting at the end of the bar. It wasn't the sleezy loud place I feared at all. Rather, a quiet, inviting place, with lots of locals, just chilling and enjoying each others company. The owner, Jimmy, welcomed me & fetched my coveted Guinness...on draught. I also had a bowl of traditional Irish stew. While a little short on the beef (wheres the beef? lol!), it was quite tasty. I noticed a lot of folks having dinner there. Every 2nd 4th Wed night, they have live Irish music, so tonight I plan to go back!
