The Gist : lukewarm, hot, overpriced, generous, disappointing

  • Just tried the new diner in Queensbury. Ordered the hot turkey sandwich. All of our food had cooled considerably by the time it was served, suggesting it sat out until the server was freed up to deliver it. There was not enough gravy, so we had to request more. The fries were of poor quality and I would never order them again. Gravy was decent, but, as noted, lukewarm. Salad looked generous until you realize it was mostly lettuce and light on the few other ingredients. My wife's cranberry sauce appeared like it was the last of the dregs and she wouldn't eat it. She wouldn't eat her fries either, as they were just not hot at all. It was pricey, and their soda prices are riduculusly high. Oddly, even though they promise a refill, they emphasize that you only get ONE! What? At 2.59 for a small glass filled with ice, and you get ONE refill? Wow! If this was a hot meal and we had enough gravy (served way too dry) I could have lived with the high price and other shortcomings, since I love a hot turkey sandwich. Sadly, this was a disappointing meal that I paid a lot for.
