I love this restaurant. The food is fabulous, authentic Italian food. Sometimes the manager is gruff and I wish he wouldn't be, but the employees are all really nice and the food is so good, so it's worth putting up with the manager.

Good deal on the Lunch Buffet. Quick and very very good. Usually have seafood, and
chicken, pasta, pizza, and a good salad. Very close to downtown Blacksburg, and across the street from VT alumni mall near Squires Student Center. Run by a transplanted Italian couple that prepare really good Italian food.

Most entrees are overcooked, improperly seasoned and overpriced. Service is slow, sometimes even rude, and obviously poorly trained. The pizza is sometimes wonderful. This is why I return. It's very hit or miss, probably varying with who's working. A simple pizza on a week night is your best bet.

Horrible. Went there last night with a group of 8 people. One young lady at our table requested more sauce on her spaghetti. The waitress took her plate and it didn't come back for damn near a half an hour. When it came back the meatballs were cold. I know because I tried one at her request. She mentiones this privately and discreetly to our server. Shortly thereafter the owner comes out and starts arguing with the lady telling her that the food got cold while it was being sent back. Directly contradicting our waitress, had said that they prepared a new order completely and that was what had taken so long. I've never seen the owner of a restaraunt, and I've lived all over the world, argue with a customer.
Thaty is one problem. The other is the fact I left hungry. I ordered the stuffed flounder. One small piece of flounder with some crab dressing, and 3 stalks of broccoli. That was it. No salad, or second vegetable. Industry standard for entree's in my experience is 2 veggies, salad and bread. The bread we did have was cold and hard. The butter was frozen solid.
For a meal that expensive I shouldn't have to go somewhere else to eat which we did.
Also 5 dollars for a Jim Beam and Coke is insane.
Also no hot water in the bathroom is pretty lame and probably against health code. Certainly against Serve-Safe certificiation standards.
Also went to bar looking for bathroom and someone behind the bar pointed me in the right direction. While I was turning to go one of their employees (maybe a busboy or dishwasher walks by and says, "its real hard to find" in a snide manner.
I've lived here for years and never had been to Ceritano's before. My lady friend suggested we have a get together and I figured I'd try the place out. Never again will I darken those doorsteps.
In short the service was slow, the food was overpriced and lacking in quantity, the drinks are overpriced and last but not least the owner is a jerk.
Our server was a nice young lady who was also working the bar. Nothing was her fault, she was very busy and we understood that. And yes I tipped her. Put it in her hand myself and told her pretty much everything I'm writing now. I made it a point to let her know it wasn't her fault.

You really should give your employees a raise. They all do such a fantastic job. keep up this and you all will run the other restaurants out of business. You all made me so happy.

I love the way this restaurant is run. The food is fantastic and it has a good atmosphere. Anyone who does not eat here is crazy. Plus the employees are well mannered and rather cute, especially one named Jessie. She served us well and we loved her personality. Keep up the good work and tell her great job. She deserves a raise and a lot of praise.

We were referred to this resaurant last Sunday and when we arrived they were not open. The man that we spoke to told us to come back later. All he said in a gruff tone was that there were not enough people in town to make it worth his time. At least he could have taken down the sign advertising the lunch buffet. It took us a long time to find a place to park and we were very hungry.
