I had a cast party at Z's Restaurant and we are still talking about the great food and the wonderful atmosphere. Its multi-cultural, vegetarian, and pork-free...a combination that's pretty hard to find nowadays. We stopped in election night and had a wonderful meal also. Problem...because Z's is open for breakfast at 7AM...they close too soon at 5PM. You must get there early before the peach cobbler, banana pudding, and sweet potatoe pies give out.....but Mr. Zeke never gives out of bean pies..and homemade vanilla ice cream. That wonderful aroma you smell as you approach the restaurant at the Vanilla Bean Pies - you might want to buy a whole one to share!
Z's Restaurant offers the best in Southern Quisine. It's mouth watering baked chicken, beef tips and rice, mac and cheese, sweet potatoe yams; corn bread muffins and dressing, bring faithful customers and repeat visitors from all over the country. Those especially looking for a non-pork menu are featured with ample portions of salmon croquettes, collard greens, green beans and potatoes, with award-winning peach cobbler, pound cake, sweet potatoe pie and as Home of the Bean Pie, the vanilla bean pie lures people from way cross town. When you top the meal off with Z's Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream and refreshing lemonade, you think your momma is in the kitchen, and its Thanksgiving all year round.
